Belleza o el arquitecto (solo un cuento) · Beauty or the architect. (just a tale)

"This structure will be superbly stable, "said the engineer while placed the last bone of its design. The room remained in gloom, just some traces of light coming from some fissures. A skeleton ended on a tripod, similar to those we can see in some museums, stood in front of him him. "But it needs to see and perceive, also speak and communicate," said the ICT specialist... No sooner said than done: he immediately ordered an eye, a phonetic system, sensors at the ends of the structure and a central processing. "I'll name it as <brain>", he said. "Uhm, such brain needs to be ventilated", said industrial engineer and, started to murmur "... air reservoir, a pump drive circuit, another for return, filters, power supply system, waste system...".According to his calculations the skeleton was filled with organs. Quickly the first engineer completed his structure with new resources," We need to protect so many organs and articulate them with muscles ... ".Such was the scene unfolding in a continuous come and go from our protagonists around what was no longer a skeleton, but a process, still incomplete and deformed.

"Nothing done will be enough". This statement, coming from a new observer, generated an intense silence. As if someone had pressed the pause button, everyone was quiet. The eyes met and they could feel their breath ....

"Sure", the mysterious visitor continue, "don´t you realize that everything is disproporcionated? Rather than a large air tank, if we divide it by two, will allow a better fit ..."

"True, the rib cage may be smoler and be optimized," the 1st engineer rejoiced.

"... And with two eyes we balance the face", continued the stranger. "But it is redundant and it will complicated the processing", objected the 2nd. "Yes, but it will see in 3D", said the enigmatic. "We can also duplicate some of the organs to rebalance the whole ... Yes I know it's redundant, but also it guarantees less wear", he continued before 3rd could talk and added: "What is this? a tripod? no, let it alone with two supports". "It will fall hopelessly!" Our 1st engineer was alarmed. "Oh, not if it keeps moving ... But this texture, and this presence so nasty ... let's wrap it with smooth skin... some hair to protect the head ... But this so inexpressive face ..." And as he said these things he acted without asking the rest: "Color for the eyes, yes, so much better ... Some blood on the lips, will it be enough?, "and without waiting for an answer he kissed them. "No, not yet ... now" he seemed more satisfied after a second test. Gradually,  that unshaped body, began to show itself as what we now know as a woman, a beautiful woman. The three engineers did not know what to say, no: it was not the most efficient body, nor the more balanced, noeither the easiest  to process but, although it was not their original purpose, it was undeniable that it was a beautiful body. As if reading their thoughts, the visitor concluded: "Gentlemen do not worry, I'll spare you the disappointment of being doomed of standing close to such an inefficient, unstable or too complex body." So he said all this offering his hand to that beauty who, already with soul, accepted.

"With three supports she would have been better," the first engineer murmured looked at the stranger and his new couple walking away toward the light.
